The RM/OpenRM Programming Guide is a lengthy tome that provides in-depth and definitive technical discussion and examples about OpenRM and RM Scene Graph. Because we use an Open Source business model, we give away the source code but must charge a few dollars for the Programming Guide.
The 1.6.0 version of the RM/OpenRM Programming Guide is a large body of technical material and is an invaluable reference for developers. It represents several years' worth of composition and editing effort, and contains 578 pages in 21 chapters. The 1.5.2 version of the RM Programming Guide consisted of 508 pages. During the work on the 1.6.0 version, we added seventy pages of new material and implemented many revisions to reflect changes that occurred between RM version 1.5.2 and 1.6.0.

We'll give you a copy of the current manual in exchange for an image showing and a paragraph describing your OpenRM-based application, along with permission to post the image & paragraph in the Gallery section of the R3vis website. Acceptable contributions will show use of OpenRM in a substantive application, such as visualization of scientific simulation results, visual simulation, and so forth. If you prefer this approach, please send a note to contribute at r3vis dot com. Submissions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis for eligibility and appropriateness. The only way to receive a free manual is to make a content contribution.
The experiment of offering a free, older manual while selling the current version has come to an end. Over the course of the past twelve months, there have been a total of about 8000 free manual downloads, representing about 30GB of network traffic. In the same period there have been only a very small number of donations or purchases. Since we are giving away the software, we need to charge a few dollars for the manual. The manual represents a substantial body of knowledge that will be very helpful with your use of the technology, and has required many man-months worth of effort to produce. Thanks for showing your support of the OpenRM project by purchasing a copy of the OpenRM Programming Guide.
